The owner, project manager and the main fitter at Experterra, Robert Puchalski, has been working in England since 2006, but his professional history covers more than 30 years and three different countries. Trained in the traditional construction trades in Poland, Rob always looked for new challenges for his skills and ingenuity. He relishes interesting projects and is rarely satisfied with the run of the mill, this-will-do kind of work.

On leaving the vocational school, Robert developed an interest in decorative stucco – and taught himself how to do it, using a textbook, a 250 lb bag of gypsum and a plastic tarp! The word got around, and young Robert started working as a kitchen fitter for a German kitchen studio. This experience working for, arguably, the most demanding group of customers in Europe, reinforced the importance Robert placed on timeliness, precision and top-quality finishing.

He opened his first own business in Poland the early 2000’s: custom-designed furniture, from fitted sliding-door wardrobe systems to shop fittings, to bespoke kitchens and bathrooms. When his fitters and joiners began seeking opportunities elsewhere when Poland joined the EU, Robert followed suit and that is how Experterra came into being.

Everything starts with an estimate. We will usually come and visit you on site in order to discuss your needs and make sure the scale and any difficulties of the project are clear. Please note that although the initial quote is usually free, Experterra reserves the right to charge a call-out fee in some cases (redeemable against the cost of the commissioned project, of course). If this is the case, it will be clearly indicated in our initial communication.

Once everything about the project is clear, we will provide you with a binding quote, which will be what you finally pay, unless you request additional services or changes during the project. We won’t surprise you with extra bills at the end. Please note that the price might also change if new issues emerge during the work – for example a need to replace rotten floorboards previously concealed by the bath being replaced – but we will always let you know what the extra cost will be before commencing extra work. Robert will personally manage and work on your project.

When required, Robert’s outstanding skills are supported by trusted and reliable services from our regular partners: STARTAGEN (certified electrician Colin Matthews) and Tom Mowic (Gas-Safe certified plumber Tomasz Mordasewicz), as well as a specialist bathroom and kitchen stonemasons. This way, you will not need to hire separate tradespeople to deal with electrics, gas or plumbing. All is managed by one person who takes responsibility for the final result. We always clean up after our work. Please note that disposal of rubbish from your property, especially larger items such as kitchen appliances, is optional and subject to separate arrangements.

All the workmanship is guaranteed for three years. This warranty does not cover faults caused by improper use or defects due to external factors such as subsidence or traffic vibrations.
